14th Feb 2012 – Roots

I know today’s Valentine’s Day but my photo has nothing to do with it!  Just being different!

It was a bright sunny day here in Penticton and I went down to Skaha Lake.  They have planted trees in the sandy shore there and some of the roots are exposed, making for interesting shapes and patterns in the sun.  The roots in the photo below looks like a “hand” spreading out about to stretch out across the sand.  I love the texture of the wood in the old roots, and the shadows cast in the sand makes the roots look like they are emerging from the ground.
