Who can not be enthused about summer with the warmer weather, the sun, the uplifting feeling that comes with being outside – walking barefoot on grass or sand, or dipping your toes into the lake or ocean.
Last summer I had the delight of being in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Renowned for its microclimate, its fresh fruits, vineyard, wineries and wonderful weather, the Okanagan is highly recommended as a tourist destination. In fact, earlier this year it was voted No. 4 in a top 10 list of places to visit.
So here is my entry into this week’s photo challenge. For full details, please visit the WordPress post which can be found HERE. You’ll also get the opportunity to see all the other entries.

Wonderful gallery of summer images!! Love the grapes & cherries!
We picked those cherries. The grapes we had to leave!!!
I love the grape image…
These were at a local winery. You could drink the wine, buy a picnic basket and listen to live music, all under the vines on the patio. Beautiful. A really lovely summer experience.
I sounds wonderful Kate.
love the flowers!
I do too. I love the way that they just fill the photo. There was just a whole bank of them. I should know their name but I forget.
i know i totally forget too!!

My absolute favourite is big fat black cherries picked fresh off the tree. Hmmm – have a friend in the Okanagan – maybe time for a visit during cherry season. (PS. What are you using to create your photo video?)
Hi Suzan
thanks for visiting and for the comment. Yes please, take a trip to the wonderful Okanagan in July to get some beautiful, freshly picked cherries. If you are in Summerland, come to the little family orchard where I will be picking and sorting the cherries. You’ll love their cherries.
As for the video; its all from WordPress within the ADD Media window. Once I have have uploaded ALL my photos that I want to use from my computer, and made any changes to title or added a caption etc, I go to the bottom of the upload page and “Save all changes”. This then moves the photos to the “Gallery” Tab. At the bottom of this page you will find TWO ‘buttons’, one of which is ‘Slideshow’. Selecting this inserts your photos as a slideshow into your post. You don’t get to the see the full slide show unless you ‘preview’ the post.
Hope that these instructions are enough to get you going on creating your own.
Kate
Perfect – thanks so much – another feature I hadn’t discovered! My friends are about 10-15 minutes from Summerland. Yum!
