Dogwood Shoots

During the autumn, I acquired some dogwood twigs that I used in a floral arrangement.  After the flowers had finished, I kept the dogwood in the vase.  They looked beautiful with their dark red stems, and I decorated them for Christmas.

After a few weeks, the dogwood produced new shoots.  They are very pale as they haven’t received enough light, but I thought I would take some photos to record them in their early stages of new growth.  I placed them in front of a mirror for added effect!
