Reifel Bird Sanctuary – Song Sparrow

This mini-series of Reifel Bird Sanctuary continues.  It was such a beautiful day that the birds were enjoying the warmth of the spring sunshine.  This song sparrow took the opportunity to just sit down on the branch and ‘soak up the rays’.

Often plain and unattractive, the song sparrow doesn’t always demand a second look, but they have a delicate beauty all of their own.  Their shrill song is quite loud and ‘trilly’.  Check out the songs here.
