5th Dec 2012 – Red branches in winter

There is not much colour about after the leaves have fallen off the trees.  However, some shrubs come into their own, creating a hue of colour in the grey of the winter.  The dogwood “Red Osier” is one of those.

This particular dogwood has the most beautiful red branches in winter, which are attractive against winter snow.  They also make good indoor centre pieces.
