3rd Dec 2012 – The Plane Tree

I love the colour of this plane tree that I found while walking through a residential part of Vancouver today.  The plane tree is:

characterized by scaling bark; large, deciduous, usually palmately lobed leaves; and globose heads of flower and seed.

It was the scaling bark, peeling off the tree, leaving a smooth, dark bronze surface underneath that attracted me.  What an amazing tree.

  1. where’s the snow? 😉

  2. Great shot with some fab details 🙂

  3. I thought those trees were called paper trees because of the way they peel off of the trunk, I could be wrong though. Great shot!
