There is something beautiful about old wood. When left to nature there is the inevitable decay and return to the earth. Even when man has utilised the wood, and created something of form and function, it will – eventually – return to the earth.
This old boat dock, now abandoned, is slowly disappearing. The water is rotting the wood; plants and grasses are growing in the decomposing matter, yet it still maintains the outline of its former life.
There is a beauty in decay.
