19th Sept 2012 – The Flower Bowl

I saw a new way of displaying flowers today: a flower bowl.  It is a lovely way of displaying the heads of flowers stylishly.  I am sure that there are many other ways you can use these types of bowl.

I was surprised by the variety of shapes and colours that became apparent as I was photographing.   The bowl was clear purple glass, so the wooden panels in the table below were visible.  In addition, the reflection of the window and clear blue sky can clearly be seen curving around the outer edges of the bowl.

I love the way that the dahlia petals have slowly drifted apart from the centre of the flower head; like golden rays of sunshine spreading across a purple sky.   Perhaps the white dahlia is the moon!
