27th August 2012 – Bird Food

As the summer moves towards autumn, the garden become very attractive to the birds.  Why?  The sunflower heads have matured and the seeds are becoming bird food.

The seed heads are food for a number of birds; sparrows, finches etc.  This goldfinch was one of many enjoying the abundant harvest.
