Penticton has hosted its last Ironman today. After a long and wonderful relationship with Ironman, the decision has been made to remove the licence from Penticton. It’s a shame but there is the promise of better and bigger things to come.
Today, was an amazing day as I volunteered at an aid station on the marathon course. The marathon is the last part of this incredible endurance event. The athletes had already swum 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles, and were embarking on the final stage – a full marathon – 26.2 miles.
The volunteers were from all backgrounds and of all ages. My photo today is of one of the helpers, a 3-year-old girl, whose T-shirt was far too big for her. What a wonderfully innocent photo.
