2nd august 2012- Venus Fly Traps

There is something macabre yet attractive about Venus Fly Traps.  They are, first and foremost, plants, yet their nutrients come from trapping flies and absorbing the nutrients of the dying and dead bodies, instead of taking up food via their roots.

Yet, they are very beautiful.  Well I think so!

  1. ha we have one named crunch munch, the can survive with just the soil too, they are very temperamental, need lots of humidity, and the hibernate for the winter. nice pic!
