2nd July 2012 – Water, Water everywhere.

We have had a lot of rain recently and for a high semi-desert it can bring complications.  Old rivers return to their old courses, and the old flood plains – well, they flood!!!

So, if the land has been reclaimed over the years for agriculture, then flooding can leave a devastating mark.

This photo is of the Oxbow Creek that has, due to the rain, flooded and returned to its meandering course.  The ducks love it, yet the signs of agriculture and attempts to use the land for farming are hard to ignore.
