26th June 2012 – True Wealth

I was experimenting today with photographing myself, well parts of myself.  I used props – in this case a handful of coins.  Then I got to thinking that in some parts of the world, what I had in my hand could keep a family alive for a couple of days.  Oh boy.

So what is true wealth?  In today’s world wealth is a sensitive subject.  As the richer people grow richer and the poor grow poorer, more and more people recognise that this imbalance can’t last.

I saw a church noticeboard the other day displaying this message:

Who is poor?  The one whose only wealth is money!

There’s a real discussion starter if ever I saw one.  Be my guest and add your views in the comments box below.

  1. i won’t get started on this subject as it is a hot spot with me, but i will say it is so sad that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and our government is supposed to be for us.
i do like that that quote,”who is poor, the one who’s only wealth is money” well i guess i did get started some…oops! 😉 love the pic!

  2. The Canadian coins in your photos caught my eye (probably because I’m Canadian too!) Thanks though, for the thoughtful words… always good to be reminded! 🙂 ~Aims from http://www.aimsphotos.wordpress.com
