4th May 2012 – Quail

It’s a little late in the mating season for most birds, but the Californian Quail are still trying to attract mates.  This male quail was perched on a high piece of rock, calling out for a mate.  These are prolific birds and such funny little things.  Who would have thought that a round, tubby bird, could run so fast!  Their legs move so quickly that you cannot see them move individually.  They are, literally, all a blur.
