Penticton has two lakes to boast about. Skaha Lake is in the south of the town and Okanagan Lake is to the north. Both have been frozen in places because of the cold temperatures, but both have uniquely reacted to the freeze. Okanagan Lake has produces heaps of ice that looks like waves, while Skaha Lake has shards of ice that has broken against the shore, just like broken glass. I went down to Skaha today in the bright, cold sun. The shards of ice had formed their own natural patterns on the shore, looking sharp enough to cut you if you dared touch them. Incredible to believe that this was not glass. Take a look for yourself.
